The dining room earns its place in the floor plan by hosting the meals you remember. We design it around the table — the chandelier's height above it, the chairs you'd happily sit in through dessert, the walls that give the meal a stage.

The Room
A room built around the table.
We pick the table first, and everything else follows: chair scale, rug size, chandelier height, wall treatment, sideboard proportions. The table is the brief. Round, oval, rectangular, extending — each shape drives a different room.
Dining rooms tolerate bolder moves than almost any other room in the house. A mural, a saturated wall color, a sculptural chandelier, a high-contrast drapery — these are rooms we'll often design at a higher register than the rest of the home.
